Why We Love Brookston:

Founded in 1853, the Town of Brookston is located in White County in northwest Indiana. Brookston is a small community and has a “hometown” feel. We are located at the intersection of State Road 18 and State Road 43. Surrounding counties include Tippecanoe, Benton, Jasper, Pulaski, Cass, and Carroll.

As residents of White County and owners of a small, family-owned business, we are proud to house our business in Brookston. We also mainly employ White and Carroll County residents, many of whom live right here in Brookston.

Brookston is home to several unique family-owned businesses (not franchises). The businesses we feature below are not just fellow business owners, they are friends. They support us and we support them. When you visit these one-of-a-kind businesses you will most likely find the business owners behind the counter ready to serve you. You may walk in the door as a customer, but you will leave a friend. So, if you are looking for a break from the rat race and need some adult-friendly fun, make the short drive over to Brookston!

Building History – Thanks to our knowledgeable local customers we have been blessed with a little history of our building Originally built in 1867, it was home to Bordner Lumber Co. The Bordner family owned the lumber company for 90 years. Then for a short time, it was an auction house. The building survived a few fires, which you can still see along the West wall of our tasting room. In the mid 70’s it became home to Johnson Machine Shop & Wrecker Service. Mr. Johnson served 57 years as part of the Brookston Prairie Township Fire Department and was a pillar of the community. Mr. Johnson retired in 2009 and the space soon became a hardware store. It started out as Brookston Hardware & Paint and was owned by Mr. Cain and eventually became Corner Hardware owned by Tedd Riley. On December 26, 2022, it became Crasian Brewing Company. We are told there was also a small CB radio shop and Lowry’s Barber Shop at some point up front where our walk-in cooler is now housed.
